That dosent answer my question... Is there a reason why? If it was money couldnt we have waited till the spring to to get enough money to make them longer? Has anyone ever played in Idaho Falls? That is the size of pads we have at sister city park. It realy makes me sad the money that the club raised to make this course nice was used to hurry to get it finished and not do it right(in my opinon). Sister park has been a long time coming why rush to get it done at the cost of super short tee pads?

Thanks for your opinion. The course is not finished product. I think you will be able to manage just fine.

Well the tee pads are short here are the reasons as I know them yes one of them was to hopfully save a little money. and part of that reasoning we decided to do that is you really don't need a really long tee pad you can start your run up on the grass behind the pad.

sorry you don't like the pad but one thought is that you could have come to one of the club meetings to were we talked about what kind of pads to put in and have voted on it then but thanks for you two cents now and we will take it into concideration when we get the funds to put in the back nine.

Ok so I haven't been to sister so I have no official opinion on the current state of the teepads, in general I do. I do agree with the idea that if it was just a matter of rushing to get them done then it doesn't make a lot of sense. I have never heard anyone say they like short pads but to each his own I gurus.

As far as coming to club meetings go, I don't know balks reason or schedule but I do know I personally haven't been able to attend a lot of things this year cuz of my schedule. I could be mistaken here but did anyone post what was going to be discussed in the is last meeting? It would be nice to use this site so that people like myself could express their opinions, or at least an immediate posting to let everyone know what was decided. I don't think my ideas/opinions are any less valuable because I was unable to attend, and if I people pay money to support the club every effort should be made to give them opportunity to share their opinions.

Again I have been unable this year to be as involved as I would like so some of this may not even be an issue, but as I said this stuff is some general opines I have that relate to the post.

Some of the logic:
1) The pads have to match the grass fairly well without making life hard for the mowers. it is hard to make a level 12 foot pad without doing brick work on every hole. the bricks add maintenance to the course every time it gets mowed.
2) The pads come in 6 and 7 foot lengths. so the choices are 6, 7, 12, 13, 14. 12 foot pads seem like overkill and would have cost almost a grand more.
3) I'd rather save the long pads for the back 9 where you actually need a runup and a big huck. the front 9 are mostly 2 step shots- if that.
4) Winter is coming and I don't want to play on mud for another year while we wait for some more money to possibly come in.
5) there was a scout ready and willing to do the labor on 7 foot pads, he got it done and I didn't have to do it myself.
6) It was a compromise, but few things in life are not.

I haven't seen the pads but that seems pretty reasonable for the front 9. Sounds like the back 9 will have some longer pads. I know i don't live down there any more, but if the pads for the back 9 are going to take some fundraising i would suggest ironing out the course layout and getting tee signs out there before you even worry about the back 9 pads. I know the course was a little hard for me to navigate the first time i played it.

On another note, they got some more pin placements approved at Ann Morrison's summer course so that will be nice next year. (The course will be changed to the winter side this Sunday after the Arm Bbuster Turkey Shoot)
