I am posting information sent out on campus. This is a bit concerning given the hours that Wendell and I often play the course.

On Sunday, July 20, 2008, at approximately 11:00 pm, on the Pocatello campus, an adult cougar was reported to be chasing two deer in the area between Biology and Reed Gym. The cougar chased the deer up Bartz Road past Schubert Heights where they ran into the brush. ISU Public Safety held over swing shift and has four officers making extra patrols in the area using night vision equipment.

Pocatello police have been notified of the situation.

If you see a cougar...

? Remember, cougars are very different than bears. Cougars do not bluff charge, and playing dead is never recommended in a cougar attack.

? Don't Run. Cougars are a powerful predator. Running may trigger an attack.

? Face the Cougar and retreat slowly. Keepdirect eye contact with the cougar while you slowlyretreat towards safety. safety tips

? Look larger than life. Raiseyour arms above your head to make yourself look largerthan normal. This may help to intimidate the cougar. Youmay also want to throw rocks and yell at it. Aggressionwill often scare it off.

? Pick up your small children. Cougarswill often select smaller prey, such as children orpets. Pick your children up to discourage the attack.

? Report the sighting.

So... if I see one, what kind of disc should I throw at it? a putter (for accuracy) or driver (for force)? My roc is my heaviest at 180, my z flick has the sharpest/hardest edge. Would a couger be intimidated by a Leopard?

Go larger than life. Throw the Rhyno. For me, I am going to start again on a jogging routine so that I can just outrun Wendell or at least one other person.
