Carrie and I finally made our last move out of Pocatello, she is done with on-campus schooling and so we finally moved our junk out of Poky. During the week or so that I was there while Carrie was still in school and we were at a stand-still for moving (packing) I was able to get out and play Ross Park a handful of times. I got kinda bored playing the usual layout, even using it for lefty practice got a little monotonous, so I made a new layout of the nine holes making the "Black" layout for Ross Park. I played it 3 times and it is sick, and hard, but sweet, realisticly though, it should only be used in the "off-season" or when absolutely no other players are there. Here's my layout:
Hole 1 - Hole 4 Tee to Hole 7 Basket
Hole 2 - Hole 8 Tee to Hole 9 Basket
Hole 3 - Hole 9 Tee to Hole 2 Basket
Hole 4 - Hole 3 Tee to Hole 4 Basket
Hole 5 - Hole 5 Tee to Hole 2 Basket
Hole 6 - Hole 1 Tee to Hole 5 Basket
Hole 7 - Hole 6 Tee to Hole 1 Basket
Hole 8 - Hole 2 Tee to Hole 5 Basket (mando hyzer router over the parking lot to avoid Veteran's Memorial - 2 stroke penalty for going in or within a certain distance - 1 for missed mando and 1 for going in or near memorial)
Hole 9 - Hole 6 Tee to Hole 8 Basket
Yes, some of these holes are absolutely rediculous but that is why I made the layout. The best round I shot, playing everything as a par 3, was a +11 (38 ). I wasn't able to avoid a 6 during any round, some had more than 1, and I took an 8 playing hole 9 (6 tee to 8 basket) during my first round. This is a super fun layout and would be made even more fun if you played with all pavement as OB and a mandatory 2 shot penalty for going in or near the Veteran's Memorial (plus removing the disc to a safe playing distance from it so as to not piss anyone off). I made my best effort to not get too close to the memorial when playing, though I will admit to missing the hyzer once and having one of the trees kick me onto the sidewalk then slide in - I found a safe spot to play from that was not in the memorial and did not involve throwing over it. Perhaps a stroke penalty could be added for throwing over the memorial just to keep people out - I gave myself a stroke penalty for going in and I was the only one there . Anyway, play the course if you dare, stay away from the memorial always, and have fun but be curteous to other park users. I know I could shoot better than a +11 if the weather was good and I didn't have to worry about snowy tee boxes, if all went well and the weather was decent I could probably manage a +5 or 6 but will probably not get anymore chances. If you do play this layout post your score(s), I am curous what others shoot, but remember be respectful to all other park users (you can get in some pretty nasty lies) and the Veteran's Memorial. _________________ ScottW

I have been thinking baout playing your black course lately but almost killed a small child just playing alt tees, so it may have to wait for winter. (I don't wake up early very well.)
I am working on some new shots for the alt pads. very scary, but fun shots. All I can say is : roadrunner over the top, evey time. _________________ Look at the size of that pill, I can't swallow that.
