| i need something with more glide and not too overstable for my weak arm. what do you suggest. i have reasnoably good luck with a midweight TL but is is not very long for me. I can really huck a gateway inferno but wher it end up is another matter. my wraith is somewhat inconsistent and an orc is too stable. what is your go to consisten driver? |

if you have a weak arm, I would suggest an XS or a Spectra, I love both for all around drivers. I also use a Surge, but it's a bit more stable than either the XS or Spectra.
Give me a call the next time you go out and I'll come along and let you throw my bag full of discraft.

I find the Surge to be Discraft's answer to the Wraith, very similar discs. I used to carry both in my bag but found that I was a little more consistent with the Wraith. As much as I have tried I have never become an Orc fan, I don't know why, it just doesn't work for me. I know some guys that do really like the X.S., I have never thrown one so I won't knock it or praise it. I do have a Spectra that I carry in my bag. I am starting to hate it. It is a very straight flying long range disc but the rim is huge and I can't stand the feel of it when gripped in my hand. I do sometimes throw it well though so it may work for you. The lip on that sucker makes the lip on all of my other discs feel small. One of my favorite drivers for straight to understable flights (which I like for my weak arm also) is the Pro Starfire or the STAR SL (Starfire-Long). My Pro Starfire is quite beat and turns over nicely, the STAR plastic on the SL makes it a little more stable which I like at times. I also tried going a little lighter with my STAR Wraith and have had good luck with that so far as well. I like the glide on all of these discs too. I hear good things about the TL except that it is just a little too short for people at times.
Just my 2 cents

| Yeah, I have thrown a heavier surge, in the esp plastic. For me, it behaved almost exactly like my star Wraith, except a little less stable. For a weaker arm, I think that it would be a little too stable, unless you got a lighter weight one. A good driver for throwers with a little less power is the beast or orc. I broke 300' with my beast first, so that should give some indication of how it is. |
