1 and 2 are facing some tweaking. I'm going to go take a look before my boss heads out to look on Friday.

Any input is welcome.

After Friday the pads should all be good to go for install.

thinking about moving #1 closer to the hillside to better protect the playground. also install a "c" placement in the hillside, short.

on #2 move the pad to the right and fairly close to the new picnic table. makes a fun tunnel shot and may allow for a ressurection of the "b" pin.

Should probably consider adding a new pin place to #3 as well because "a" endangers property.
suggestions....

Was not sure how to vote, but here is my impressions. I have played sister many times with mutual kids, as well as my in laws which are brand new to disc golf. I have not had one disc go into anybody's yard. I am a little curious as to who as been throwing into the yards. My point is that regardless of the redesign I wonder if we will ever truly be able to eliminate discs going into yards. Lance, are you aware of the exact yards that disc have been going into? At this point I don't think a total redeisgn is the answer. Tweaking should suffice and your recommendations seem fine. Going back to an earlier post, I think it is important for the people with the yards to understand that we are trying to make changes so that the discs are not going into yards.

I agree with most of what has been said in this and other posts.

My quote to the two guys who have come into my office

Me "I'll bet you miss your private park."
Dude "yeah, we used to be all alone"
Me "get used to a lot of traffic, that park is going to be popular now"

The trouble is from the two guys behind #1 and next to #2 that have jack rail fence (or no fence at all). I can see problems on a windy day. I've come close to a yard, but it is almost 65 feet from the basket to the yards no a 240 foot hole. that's a good margin.

thay also felt unsafe sending grandkids to the playground. That's normal in a park. Watch your kids.

I wanted to meet you out there today, Lance, but I had a meeting that ran late. I would agree with the new placements - but will the new pad at 1 be in conflict with the horseshoe pits? Not that I've seen many people throwing, but during events at the pavilion, I have seen a few folks tossing shoes.

In a quick warm-up round yesterday, my drive on 2 slipped out early and I nearly ended up in one of the yards to the left. Luckily, the throw was a little long. So, I could see how some folks would make it there in the existing arrangement.

I'd be willing to go door-to-door with someone to let these particular folks know of the changes being made, if we think it'd be a sign that the club/City is trying to accommodate.

door to door is a good idea, I was going to drop notes, maybe leave a DX disc.

result from my meeting today with the parks guy:

His requirement- move all tees away from shelter. Keep discs off of private property and out of the playground.

result:
Move #1 down to the gravel by the dumpsters and box car for a big uphill shot. this also makes nice to play 9 holes and be at your car again.
Move #2 over by picninc table under tree canopy. Shorter hole, but still interesting.

Something I didn't expect:
Move #8 shorter down the road a bit. Pull the short pin and move it back further on the peninsula.

Other interesting developemnts:
I made a small contribution to get a table and a bench and a big concrete pad on #1 at Ross. the pad will basically cover all of the dirt and the table and bench will give groups somewhere to sit while waiting for the pad.

Hole 12/13 at sister city will have a drinking fountain in a few weeks/2 months.

By late next year the dumpsters are supposed to be gone and there should be ample parking at #1/9

Lance - any chance you'd have time to meet there around noon to play the new set up? For some reason, I'm not picturing where new pads for 1 and 8 would be.

While you're working on it, is there any way to make #9 on the hill safer? If you moved the pin 10-15 feet up the hill, it would still keep "death putt" element, but reduce the number of shots being made with shakey footing on loose gravel and a steep incline. Seems like the margin of safety around that hole keeps on eroding. Also... #9 short position, some body put stones in the pin hole, making it impossible to put the basket there. I don't know if the city has some fancy way of getting the stones out, industrial needle nose pliers maybe?

I will go out at noon and play 9.
Park by the dumpsters.
I do have a lot to do between now and then, maybe 12:15.

Casey- all valid concerns. I do hope to shore up the hill somehow. it is eroding at an alarming rate.
I'm not opposed to another sleeve, but don't have one handy.

I will take a breaker bar out and try to demolish the stones out of the 9 sleeve. otherwise I think I might have to dig it and and clean it out. Bummer.
