ONE DISC TO RULE THEM ALL
2nd Annual Pocatello One Disc Championship
Saturday, July 3rd
Registration 9:00-9:30
Player's Meeting 9:30
Three Divisions:
I'm Good: $15
I'm a Woman: $10
I'm No Good: $10
All money will be paid out to the top 3 in their division.
On the morning of July 3rd, we'll meet at the Ross Park Pavilion. You'll pick your one disc to play all three courses in Pocatello. You may carry a back-up disc in the case of a lost disc (same weight, mold, plastic). This is a casual tournament and I'll do my best to group friends/family together. We'll play 9 at Ross and 18 at Sister City; break for lunch; then finish with18 at Bengal (Women and No Good play from B-Tees).

THE Wazowski Xcal will be there to defend it's title.
To echo Lance's point, if you can make it for this one, be there. This is nothing but fun. _________________ God is happiest when His children are at play, so PLAY. |

I'm planning on being there. Like Lance, my disc selection will be dependent upon conditions, although I hope "snow" is not a repeat condition from last year (especially considering it's in July).
This'll be a ton of fun.

It actually takes less than that to rule our mall. It's easy, just clear busineeses out as fast as they can get set up, and you can rule the mall.
I do need to discuss something relatively serious here. I am worried about the guys planning to bring Roc's and Buzzz's and other mid ranges. You guys are going to get beat pretty bad. I mean, bringing mid-ranges to this event is like bringing a baseball bat to a gun fight. You can hack away all you want, but the guy with the BIG GUN will still win.
Some sobering truth for your day. _________________ God is happiest when His children are at play, so PLAY. |

Now, Eric, if you come to play with a putter, then the game changes. That's like a ninja coming to a gun fight. The odds become much more even when you can catch a bullet with your bare hand. _________________ God is happiest when His children are at play, so PLAY. |

Anyone want to play Sister City at about 12:30 as a tune up for tomorrow?

Well, I learned a valuable lesson today: don't bring a putter to a driver fight.
Lots of fun. Next year, it's back to Destroyer.

Well, given that I didn't promote this event at all, we still had 8 people show. James took home $88 between CTPs/Ace Pot/and first place.
We played 18 at each park so 162 was "par." The scores went as follows:
James w/Firebird 147
Austin w/Xcal 159
Mike Cowan w/San Marino Roc 166
Chris Redfield w/Starfire 172
Eric Carlson w/San Marino Roc 174
David w/Wasp 179
Casey Locke w/Firebird 180
Eric Staats w/Vibram putter 188
Tip of the Hat to Eric Carlson, this was his first time playing Bengal. Hope to see you at Soda.
Wag of my Finger to the paintballers from Bonneville Co. Who shot up basket 9 and lied to us when confronted on it.
Tip of the Hat to the Roc. Clearly a better disc than the Wasp. The only other Discraft-player played Innova when forced to choose. Don't believe it? Prove me wrong next year.
Tip of the Hat to James who was, and has always been a blast to play with. Good luck in the great state of Ada. |

I did have to go Xcal. Discraft does not make overstable drivers nearly as well as Innova. I also love that I am suddenly a Discraft player. Apparently, if you throw anything but a Roc for Mid-range approaches, you become a Discraft player.
Big thanks to Casey for organizing this event. Lots of fun. Nice weather. I'm glad James was able to obliterate us one more time before he moves. See ya'll at Soda. _________________ God is happiest when His children are at play, so PLAY. |
