I am up for running a casual tournament this summer. Which one would be more popular with club members?
Choice 1. Japan Open in Pocatello. 150 class discs only, at Bengal Ridge. Two rounds of 18 holes. Maybe an after tournament round of putter-dodge-ball for all the ninjas. Maybe an Optional Sake Division. BYOB, drink one sake shot per hole, with confirmed designated driver
Choice 2. One Disc to Rule Them All. One disc. three courses. AM Ross, Noon Sister City, PM Bengal. Last time the Excalibur was ruler, with Roc in second.
Payout for either tournament would be the same.
100 percent of proceeds paid out to top 3 in each division.
Divisions:
10 dollars. Good. open/good advanced
10 dollars. No-Good. sucky advanced/intermediate
optional CTPs & Ace Pots
What do yall think? |

either way for me. I buy a 150 disc every time I see one under $5 just for the occasion of a japan open.
I missed on disc last time and I think we can all agree that an excal is an awesome disc, but not the one that should rule them all.
I think last year it was straight up one disc all day. I missed it though.
I'd throw a monarch. _________________ Look at the size of that pill, I can't swallow that.
Good news everybody! it's a suppository. |

| One disc for all three courses. You could carry a back-up, same mold, same plastic, same weight, but only to be used in case of a lost disc. |

| Casey did a great job with the One Disc last year and it was a lot of fun! My vote is a One Disc. Although a Japan open would be fun also. |

I think the one disc event sounds great.
If you want we could make the casual doubles tourney at sister city, otherwise labeled by various ninjas as the "Bushido Bash", a 150 class doubles tourney. At least it would be unique. A Japan open doubles tourney. |

One disc was pretty fun. That gets my vote.

What about a mixed japan open/super class doubles tourney? One person has to be designated to use 150 class, the other super class?
This could get crazy....

I love the idea of a one disc event at all three courses. That sounds like a ton of fun. If the one disc event is the choice, I will return to the event this year with the Xcal that won it last year. _________________ God is happiest when His children are at play, so PLAY. |

| Well I had to vote for the Japan Open in Pocatello but either one is fine with me. I had a great time at last years one disc and I'd still throw something 150 class anyway |

| Well, based on this totally scientific method, looks like One Disc is the winner. Being lazy, anyone know of a good June/July Saturay that isn't already booked with other tournaments? |

Gem State Disc Golfers keep a pretty comprehensive of local and regional tourneys here:
http://discgolf.vpop.net/schedule/schedule.php
Right now, fairly open Saturdays in June/July look like:
June 26, July 3, July 17
If people aren't traveling, it'd be cool to have an event on July 3rd....

My vote would be for July 3rd. It'd be cool to do a pre-independence day event. _________________ God is happiest when His children are at play, so PLAY. |
