Disc Golfers:

The Idaho Department of Parks and Recreation (IDPR) is soliciting public
input on a master plan for Heyburn State Park. Heyburn SP is one of Idaho's
great state parks located in the northern part of the state in the Plummer -
St Maries area.

The IDPR website http://parksandrecreation.idaho.gov/ has a link to the
2010 master plan for the park in the lower left of their webpage. That link
will take you to a page where you can read the master plan and also send
your email input to the parks department. If you take the time to peruse the
draft plan master document, you can search for "disc golf" and find several
instances mentioned. On pages 11, 21, 23, and 29, it seems that disc golf is
mentioned as a certainty. But on pages 42, 43, and 102, a 2009 public
opinion poll showed that most respondents were against a disc golf course in
the park. However, there only 17 responses that were used in the poll, so we
have an opportunity to show that many people across the state think disc
golf would be a positive asset to Heyburn State Park.

Please take a few minutes to let the people at the IDPR know that you
support disc golf being considered for inclusion in the Heyburn SP master
plan.
