Here is a link to some uploaded pictures for the back nine at Bengal.
I will be adding the front nine soon.
This is primarily for the out of towners, or those in town that are not that familiar with the course. If you play the course all the time, then it is not that interesting.

Are holes 1-9 on here or am I retarded? Maybe don't answer the second part. The pics of the back 9 are nice. I'd like to post a link to the pics on the Garden City Flyers website. I posted the link to Ross Park and some club members are rolling because they are jealous of such a nice looking park course. We've already started working on teaming up with Missoula Park and Rec. Any advise on this one Lance? _________________ ScottW

city politics can be very strange. Budgets are typically set 18 months in advance, or more. I was very lucky to squeeze money out for baskets at ross. I was also very lucky the club was very very easy to work with and motivated to do whatever it took to get a course in despite many compromises. It was nice that mook essentially had the course layed out and had played there several times.
You may have an ideal park picked out but if the dept is deeply opposed, move on to your next choice. Lower ross park would really make a nice back 9, but it will likely never ever happen. It is practically sacred ground to the parks dept.
There has been quite a lot printed lately in the parks and rec trade magazines about the benefits of disc golf. One of the big ones is revenue. courses with a fee box tend to make a little money. Scary, but worht it soemtimes. The other thing is displacing undesirable activities. Disc golfers at Ross do a lot less mischief than the former crowd of guys. I'm not worried no about landing in a pile of feces or other unknown body fluid.
The trade magazines reccommend a $10,000 budget per 9 holes for a pro designed high grade course. Poky spent $3000 on Ross. That made my bosses happy.
If you have a well thought out plan, a budget, and a big time commitment to the course it is hard to say no. Involve the elected offical if possible to push the salary guys along. If a councilman is behind a project it gets done a lot faster/better. It is amazing what 10-20 emails can do the let elected folks now what their voters want.
I would be happy to talk to anyone up there on your behalf if they have questions.
anything else?

I just realized that Shirley Kinsey is the head of recreation up there. I know her well. in fact, I worked for her here in Poky for a few years. She used to have my job. She sort of fished down here for a new outdoor head guy, but i am happy enough. She can be resistant to change sometimes but is gung ho once convinced.

I thought I had mentioned somewhere that the pictures were just of the back nine at bengal and that I am working on the fron nine.
Must have spaced it, but I will get a link to you soon.

I haven't taken them yet, but was planning on it the next fair weather day. Unless you have them in a hard disk format I think that taking the pictures is going to be the easiest. If you do have it on hard disk, I might just create another album with more photos of bengal on it.
When I am browsing pictures I like to see as many pics as I can to try to figure out the hole. _________________ See you on the course!
