I really like the names that involve something specific to this region:
Juniper and Sage...High Desert...Desert Basin...
Hmmm....
stuff like the:
IHDDGC (Kinda long, but the Idaho High Desert Disc Golf Club)?
or HDDGC for short? Some kind of an Icon or Image of a disc flying into a sage? (Maybe that's just mine...) or just the image of a sage with the double meaning of a "sage" (sorry kinda cheesy?)
Maybe I am thinking too much here?
I am thinking more of what would work well when approaching business owners or other potential sponsors. "High Desert" sound like an upper caliber name. In some ways it also accurately reflects the type of people who I have met while participating here.
Maybe all this is too boring, but you must admit for all the fun we have this is a pretty "straight laced" group for a DGC.
So after all that rambling, I guess that is my vote...If I get one...the IHDDGC, the Idaho High Desert Disc Golf Club or just the High Desert Disc Golf Club, with a sage or juniper icon maybe incorporating a disc some how?...(Sorry I am not a design expert, that is for someone else). |

According to a dictionary Sage means:
One venerated for experience, judgment, and wisdom.
Do we have anybody in our group who fits this description??
I know people tease Mark for being old, but I don't know if that would qualify him as a sage. |

Come on...
Just ask Kerry about his "Philosophy of Post-Modern Cinema"...Anyone who knows all of those words is a "sage" as far as I am concerned.
Ask Caleb what can be done with a disc on a given hole...pretty "sage" advice...not to mention anyone who gets an "ace" with a roller at ross on hole 8 must know more than I do.
Anyone who has seen Mike scale a picnic table or a tree just to get your favorite disc, or watched him give discs to other players should know what I am talking about.
Mark, Casey, Mike, Mook, Austin, Eric and many of you have no idea who I am but you have taken the time to teach me and my son about choosing and chucking discs.

Not to take away from your arguement English101 but the roller ace was on hole 7 (unless of course he got another roller ace that happened to be on hole 8 ) I was there for it and wouldn't believe it had I not seen it Sorry, I just had to make the correction _________________ ScottW
